Dr. Gupta completed his MBBS from Government Medical College Aurangabad from 1983 to 1988, followed by specialization in General Surgery (MS), completed in 1991. During his formative surgical years, he developed strong foundations in surgical discipline, patient-centered care, and evidence-based clinical practice.

From 1992 to 1994, Dr. Gupta underwent specialized training in laparoscopic surgery at the renowned Breach Candy Hospital, one of India’s premier tertiary care institutions, under the guidance and supervision of Dr. T. E. Udwadia, who is internationally acknowledged as the pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in India. During this period, he also gained valuable exposure while working alongside eminent surgeons including Dr. Shrikande and other leading surgical specialists.

Dr. Gupta is regarded among the pioneers of laparoscopic gallbladder surgery in the region and has successfully performed more than 30,000 gallbladder surgeries (Lap Chole procedures) since 1995, with consistently successful outcomes and vast surgical experience.
